I started my Auto Trimming apprenticeship in 1979 and have just ticked over more 40 Years in the industry.
My auto trimming apprenticeship was completed working with an excellent tradesman as well as having great teachers at the Batman Tafe College. I was given the opportunity to manage a small Auto Trim Shop in my 1st year as a Tradesman mainly working on repairs for car dealerships. From there I spent over 3 years working for Australian Airlines before starting my own business.
During that period I was performing a lot of after hours trimming work. Restoring early Porsche’s and customising street machines. Carrera Trimming was established in 1989 alongside the Australian Car Cover business.
My car covers business initially served the customers for whom I was restoring interiors. Today, with the advent of the internet, developing a website has allowed me to help people all over Australia and beyond.
With over 40 years experience, I have trimmed many and varied cars. They range from the early 1900’s vehicles through Vintage, Classic, Modern and Prototype Cars for the major car companies.
Moving the business to my home in the year 2000 has allowed me the freedom to take on many different projects. Building a new larger workshop on Phillip Island has increased the opportunities into the future.
